Bravo To The Best Garden Party West of The Hamptons!

Well, the first Garden Party | Croquet Classic at VanDusen Gardens was a success! Croquet, cocktails and cars.  The sun was out, as was the fashion.  What a fantastic excuse for some stunning hats and hair pieces.  Several women were wearing fascinators, while others chose more traditional sun hats.  A few were even donning the festival must have this year, a floral headpiece.

The ladies were not the only ones who brought their fashion game.  The men were wearing colourful shirts, pulled up argyle socks, and bow ties were everywhere.  If we didn't know better, we would have thought we were in the Hamptons, and not Vancouver.

The Botanical Gardens were the perfect backdrop for the garden party. The croquet was set amongst permanent sculptures, human sculptures, and beautiful luxury cars.
We're already planning our ensembles for next year.

Loved: Bal's Navy & White Banana Republic Dress.

We love Kiki

Recently on a trip to Vegas, I had the pleasure of visiting a Kiki de Montparnasse store.  Living in Vancouver, we don't have anyone who showcases the line.  I've been drooling over several of the items for while, and experiencing the store, was more than I could have imagined.

Right from when you walk in, the store it pure luxury.  From the cashmere underwear (everyone needs a pair of these!) to all of the beautiful lace, it was a complete mind trip for anyone who loves lingerie.

I will admit, that the highlight of my visit was not the lingerie.  It was a piece of furniture that the stores have made exclusively for them.  A bronze and leather pleasure piece, that is made in London.  The details of the stir-ups, floral detail on the underside, and the extreme maleness of the chair, made it a standout among all of the soft, feminine details.

Have you been to any of the Kiki boutiques?  What was your favorite part?

Another glam event...we're going to a Garden Party!

Who says Vancouver has nothing going on? And how fortunate are we to be part of another exciting 'first' event for the city!?

(Just last weekend we were at the first Polo Tournament held in Vancouver in over twenty years!)

If you know us at all, then you know that we love a good dress-up event. Judging from the clip below, The Garden Party & Croquet Classic at the VanDusen Botanical Gardens is going to be THE See and Be-Seen Event!

We are also happy to know that charitable proceeds from our Saturday fun-and-fashion-day will help to support Backpack Buddies and Community First Foundation.

So the obvious question...What to wear?

Does a Body Suit?

I'm stumped.  There are very few lingerie pieces that I have a hard time figuring out how to wear, or what to wear them with.  There is one piece that I cannot get my head wrapped around, although, I would really love to.

The bodysuit.

They are lovely pieces of lingerie that look so exquisite on.  High cut legs, low cut décolletage, revealing back, but still covered up.  Hints of sexiness peaking through.  How can you not feel like a vixen while wearing them?

And that is the question.  How to wear them?  The most exquisite ones do not have snaps where you need them, it would ruin the look.  So, do you take it all off when out and about, or do you save them for the bedroom?

Lascivious, Princesse Tam Tam, Maison-Close

Let us know how you wear your bodysuits.

Sometimes we all just need to chill out...

We're going to a Polo Tournament at Southlands Riding Club!

What I love most about fashion is the opportunity it gives me to express myself visually. I get to put forward the way I feel via a look that I create. Sometimes that look can convey a side of me that is lesser-known than the obvious. Sometimes it's just playing make-believe.

Add into the mix those special occasions when we get to outfit ourselves in a way that is very outside our everyday lives. Let the imagination run free and we have the magic of a dress-up event! From Halloween to Horse Races, I love the idea of stepping into a different pair of shoes, be they space boots or stilettos, just for a day!

Tell us about your favourite dress-up event! What did you wear?

Not Your Everyday T-shirt Bra No. 2

Delicate, feminine and supportive.

Heidi Klum (formerly Elle Macpherson) Dentelle is the perfect combination of form and function in a bra. That must be the stuff that classics are made of!

(Another extraordinary t-shirt bra here).

These thin and beautifully ruched straps are wide set in a balconnet style. Peeking out from beneath a silk cami, they look enticing.

Together with lovely lace corseted cups, this classic bra offers amazing lift and separation.

(More on fit here).

The matching boyshorts are a must! They are adorable; the sheer mesh back will feel fantastic next to your skin.

I'll take a set in every colour, please!
