Do you use mask sheets?

It's cold out and we are in desperate need of some extra hydration!

What better time to test drive the Korean beauty product phenomenon for ourselves? For a while now skincare technology in South Korea has been acknowledged, by many Western practitioners, as more than a decade ahead of the West. We decided to take our concerns to The Face Shop for a consult.

Real Nature Red Ginseng Mask, 3D Ampoule Ceramide and Red Ginseng Mask + the Smim Repair Cream.

We left with two mask sheets and a cream. We loved that the sales staff was not at all pushy with products given that Asian skincare is generally accepted as a several step process.

At the knowledgable associates suggestion we decided to start with a red ginseng mask sheet. Phytonutrients found in ginseng act to regenerate, tone and brighten the skin.

A slightly more pricey version, the 3D Ampoule mask sheet includes a pre-treatment (serum). We chose the one with active ingredients ceramide and red ginseng. Ceramides are naturally occurring lipids that decrease with age. They act to lock-in moisture and prevent dryness.

Finally, the Smim line is formulated with pure sake (rice wine) ingredients extracted from natural fermentation. Kojic acid in sake inhibits melanin formation, which is responsible for age spots and freckles) and retains the skin's moisture.

So tell us, have you tried these or similar products? What do you think?
