We are inspired by her commitment to cultivating a strong and positive presence in her community.
In collaboration with Beauty Night Society, Blink Brow Bar is giving back to their community with their 'Thread It Forward' campaign. From September 19th to 22nd, Blink Brow Bar will ‘thread it forward‘ to their community of beauty seekers by offering each customer who purchases an eyebrow threading service a gift card to pass on - or ‘thread it forward’ - to a friend. Additionally, all proceeds from services purchased over these dates will be donated to Beauty Night Society to further ‘thread it forward’ to young women living in poverty.
We had the opportunity to speak with Beauty Night Society founder, Caroline MacGillivray, who shared heartfelt stories about the positive impact that makeovers, life skills development and wellness workshops have had on the lives of impoverished women and youth all over the Lower Mainland. Members of Vancouver's downtown eastside community were also on hand to attest to the success of this very basic but effective outreach. Beauty Night Society has an extensive waiting list of shelters, health care facilities, drop-in centres and transition homes, and is at capacity with their existing resources. The support from 'Thread It Forward' will help maintain and expand the availability of these programs.
